OVERVIEW OF CLOUD SERVICES FOR COMPUTER VISUALIZATION OF EDUCATIONAL MATERIAL

It is possible to visualize educational material with the help of various tools and techniques developed and proposed by researchers and practitioners in the field of pedagogy and psychology. For this purpose, tables, diagrams, diagrams, graphs, models (including interactive intelligence maps), etc. are used. They contribute to the development of visual thinking in educational activities, which positively affects the quality of learning material [5].

Today there are a large number of online services that allow you to visualize information in one way or another [3; 4]. The most common and popular among these are the following.

  1. Easel.ly This tool allows you to quickly create presentation material in the form of infographics using diagrams and drawings based on ready-made templates.
  2. Infogram. This service is designed for users who do not understand web design and programming. The creation process consists of several steps, including choosing a template with the desired design (one of six options), entering your own information into the template, adding images or videos (for example, from YouTube), posting on social networks or posting on your own site
  3. Prezi. Cloud service for creating interactive presentations. The main feature of the service is the ability to transform elements during the presentation (remoteness, rotations, accents on certain objects, elements, or parts of the slide). Among the advantages of using Prezi, it is worth highlighting the ability to work together on a project with several users, publish a ready-made presentation on a blog or website, and save a presentation for offline display without using the Internet.
  4. GeoGebra. The environment provides the ability to model mathematical objects and work with tables and statistical calculations. It is possible to create interactive applets that can be embedded in the web page.
  5. PowToon. Online service for creating animated videos and presentations with a wide range of additional features. There are several options for animating text and drawings on slides (scrubbing, the sequential appearance of letters, etc.).
  6. XMind. The free service for creating intelligence maps contains a large set of ready-made templates for editing and creating your own visualized product based on them. Its toolkit allows you to create concept maps, Ishikawa diagrams (fishbone diagrams), tables, logical and tree diagrams, as well as export documents to Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, PDF format, images (bmp, jpg, gif, and png formats). It is possible to add files to the document.
  7. VideoScribe. The service allows you to create videos by scrubbing elements and drawing a plot by hand. In the free trial version (the trial period is 7 days), three ready-made templates will help you create a dynamic presentation.

Thus, a review of online services revealed several computer imaging tools, among which we highlighted AnyChart, Easel.ly, Infogram, Prezi, GeoGebra, PowToon, and XMind. Using such visualization tools for educational material involves using cognitive graphics – diagrams, tables, diagrams, etc. To ensure high-quality visualization, information must be carefully systematized and selected; psychological and pedagogical mechanisms of perception of visual content; knowledge of the computer tools of the corresponding software is necessary [1].

The use of visualizations is possible only if you have specialized equipment in the form of a smartphone, tablet computer, PC monitor or laptop, projector, or interactive multimedia board, depending on the format of the content files and the system requirements it requires.

The expediency of using the visualization of educational material by means of cloud services is due to the need to take into account the cognitive characteristics of the modern generation of students, as well as the need for a capacious presentation of educational material in the form most convenient for its perception, understanding, assimilation, memorization [2]. Taking into account the psychological characteristics of the perception of educational material by students, predetermines the appeal to information visualization technologies that provide compactness, expressiveness, the dynamism of the presentation of the content of educational material, its conveyance, as well as provide a platform for attracting students to collective creative work, during which the knowledge acquired by them is reproduced and practically applied.

Therefore, the formation of teachers’ skills to use computer visualization tools is an extraordinary problem that should be solved by taking into account the specifics of future professional activity, available information tools, and common methods of visualizing educational material, which is currently underutilized by future teachers.
