Abstract: The application of modern information technology has brought technological means into the teaching process. Students can better feel the connotation of music through multimedia, which is of great help for the learning of students’ professional knowledge and the cultivation of aesthetic ability. The integration of modern information technology with music education and teaching in universities is a trend and an important means to improve teaching quality.

The Significance of Integrating Modern Information Technology with the Science of Music Education in Universities

The use of multimedia means belongs to the comprehensive effect of sound and image. College students can experience more learning pleasure in music education and teaching. Their learning interest is influenced by various factors, and they are more likely to have a desire to explore and learn vivid and specific new things, So music teaching in universities should combine modern information technology to create a classroom environment and atmosphere that is different from other disciplines for students. For example, after students enter the classroom, they can first play a piece of music with beautiful melody and positive emotions, which can bring them into the world of music and better concentrate their attention. In addition, adding appropriate background music as a backdrop in the process of creating courseware in the classroom can improve the richness and uniqueness of classroom teaching by integrating boring lecture content with the melody of the music. Another example: in the process of introducing the history of western music, music of the same period can be selected for background play in combination with specific teaching content. For example, Türkiye March, Blue Danube Waltz, so that students can understand the development process of and western music while feeling the characteristics and forms of music at that time in the learning process, which can play a certain role in improving teaching efficiency.

Practical Research on the Integration of Modern Information Technology and the Science of Music Education in Universities

When teachers need to introduce the timbre of different vocal regions and parts in music classroom teaching, it is impossible for students to fully understand and master them through their own imitation, and it is also easy to have misunderstandings. The addition of modern information technology can achieve more scientific teaching of music knowledge. For example, in the teaching of «Yellow River Cantata», teachers can use relevant video materials to allow students to watch and introduce their singing knowledge, as well as to divide the vocal parts and timbre of different vocal regions. Then, teaching can be expanded to allow students to understand the differences in singing forms such as solo, choir, and ensemble, and to have an intuitive understanding of the four differentvocal parts in mixedsinging, The implementation of these teaching contents requires the assistance of modern information technology, which traditional teaching methods cannot achieve. Therefore, music education and teaching in universities must pay more attention to modern information technology, enhance the effective integration of the two, and improve the level of music education and teaching.
